《Montage of Hong Kong》

Director: Ikuma Horii, 2020, Japan

This film won the Best Documentary Award at the Osaka Kadoma International Film Festival 2020, the Best Documentary Award at the Sapporo International Short Film Festival, and the Grand Prize at the Kobe Independent Film Festival.

Once known as the Pearl of the Orient, the free city of Hong Kong was handed over to China by the United Kingdom in 1997. Today, every inch of Hong Kong is embroiled in an ongoing, seemingly endless struggle for liberation from Chinese rule and the pursuit of democracy. What are these young people fighting for? This work traces the trajectories of people involved in this movement in various forms.

《Do Not Split》

Director: Anders Hammer, 2020. USA/Norway

This file was selected for the 2021Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Best Documentary Short at the 93rd Academy Awards

Without focusing on specific individuals, the director captures the escalating clashes between police and protesters, who risk their lives to defend their values. The content includes iconic events during the movements, interviews with demonstrators and scholars, and documents the suppression of the anti-extradition movement and the passage of the Hong Kong National Security Law.

"The anti-extradition movement was one of the most important political events in the world in 2019. Hong Kong is facing challenges to its democratic values, and I hope this film can closely represent the events from the perspective of the streets." — Anders Hammer
